A native Steam Link app is now available on Apple Vision Pro, turning the headset into a wireless window for PC games from Steam. The app streams content from a local computer running Steam, using the same remote rendering pipeline that powers Steam Link on televisions and mobile devices.
Running as a visionOS-native client, Steam Link can tap Apple’s low-latency video decode and hardware acceleration to reduce perceived input lag and compression artifacts. Users pair the headset with a gaming PC on the same network, then map compatible controllers or keyboards, effectively treating Vision Pro as a high-resolution external display in a virtual environment.
The official app displaces unofficial workarounds that relied on desktop mirroring tools and complex network routing, which often introduced extra encoding steps and jitter. Steam Link consolidates setup into a single interface inside visionOS, while still depending on the host PC’s GPU for real-time rendering and on the local router for stable bandwidth.
